New offerings from Ruger and S&W

I've heard of two new guns in the last two days!

First Ruger's lightweight version of the 22/45. I'd think this might be handy when target shooting. My RMII gets heavy shooting bullseye. The threaded barrel is interesting too.



Today I saw an ad for S&W's "Shield", a compact version of thier M&P. Looks like it will compete with the Kahr, Walther, & Ruger plastic compacts.

I know Smith has a new 9MM out that with the use of a small key in the back of the grip it totally can changed out to another supplied form of grip in less then 30 secs. One of the ladies at my club just picked one up. Pretty neat idea actually as I think there's a total of 4 different types of grips to choose from in the kit.

Changing out the backstraps is quite common on plastic guns these days. I think it is either Sig or H&K that has one where you can change the side straps also.

Got to fire one of each of these last Sunday at the range when a friend of mine brought his and his wife's MP's out to play with. His is the 40 and hers is the 9mm. Personally I like my Berretta 92FS better for the hand feel and good looks as well. Of course thats just my taste.
