For me the look and the Handfeel are as important as well as the other factors. If it does not feel right then I know I will not enjoy shooting it at all. I am very hand sensitive with 6" scars on both wrists from major surjury years ago now to repair the nerves which were all blown out of my hands. Too much time with air tools that did some serious damage did it. If it don't fit right I have great trouble holding most things and a good looking gun is a good looking gun period.

I agree ; The ergonomics and fit means everything to me. With revolvers, I can switch to different grips. I like to have my grip hand riding high on the handgun grip, very close to the center a of the bore, so, I prefer that the backstrap be exposed.

I'm planning on trying my hand at making a set of grips for my Model 27. The ones that came with it are not the originals, and I don't really like them anyway.

ML; Remember when we was talking about these revolvers going up in price ?
......Remember when we was talking about S&W using MIM components in their trigger systems.
....In my opinion; The Carbon Steel N-Frame S&W 27 will always be the Flagship of the S&W's .357 magnum revolvers.
