www.foxnews.com/us/2012/08/25/nypd-shooting-bystander-victims-hit-by-police-gunfire/So they pass a law requiring "NY triggers" on their guns to prevent accidental firing by their officers. This was in lieu of actually teaching their officers to shoot? It really worked out well. Idiots. The heavy triggers may have contributed to their lack of accuracy. Another reason why I wouldn't be caught dead in NYC. Heard Rush say that the thing that really worries him is the morons that will again vote for Obama.

Sad when the respondents are more dangerous than the threat.

...Many cops had complaints about the Sig Sauer's Decockers, because the cops would form the habit of manually lowering the hammer before reholstering the pistols. This defeats the lockwork safety mechanisms on the Sig Sauers. So, Sig Sauer began producing Double Action Only triggers for the cops.
...I know that some will say that the first round would be double action, and after this, the following rounds would be fired on Single Action, and this would throw off the accuracy of the older Sigs.....Nope.....It was the trigger getting snagged on the holster, when the user failed to deploy the decocker lockwork.

I think more range time is needed for these officers. I know in my city here they have a beautiful new range for them but won't supply any practise ammo for them to train with. We have one shooting last year where a officer fired his Glock 19 times chasing a suspect. Needless to say he shot a lot of houses and backyard sheds but totally missed the suspect. He's still on the desk a year later now as the perp was not even armed and told him he was going to run as well. Typical City hall, Not Very Bright at all.

blueglass; It would seem as though, the officers wouldn't have to be told about range training or having their agency provide them with free ammo. ......In the county where I live, the Sheriff and The Chief of Police has objections about License Carry Permits, because they said that the people wasn't trained. Last year, a 17 year old kid out gunned a veteran Deputy / County Police with a stolen Glock. The Deputy had on a armor / protective vest, the kid didn't. www.news-daily.com/news/2012/may/02/witnesses-daly-shot-stolen-law-enforcement-weapon/?c=30216.....The first line of Training, in Firearm Safety, should be "how to secure a firearm"...Not so, in my county : Unsecured Firearms In Clayton County, Ga. "Clayton Commissioner's Police-Issued Gun Stolen"
"Clayton County Police Chief also Theft Victim"
"Clayton County Sheriff'S Deputy'S Gun Stolen"
"Guns stolen from Clayton police car" "Clayton County Police Chief Re-assigned" Wednesday, 23 Dec 2009, "Sheriff: Feds investigate Hill over missing weapons"
