OK MLB, I realize this is a little over the top, but the engraving that was done by the laser is incredible. Fifty years ago this would have taken a person a long time to do this by hand. Of course it has the normal sucky 10/22 trigger. I'm not sure if I'll bother changing it or doing any work on it. It is mostly art work, but I will shoot it. Modify to add: notice that they finally fixed the magazine release.

It's amazing what they can do with laser engraving now.

I think it looks very nice and is extremely well done as well.

Well, after my failure to reassemble the 597 Magnum, both last night and this morning (without the Scotch), I decided to do a quick cleaning of this rifle and take it to the range for the first time.
Winchester Wildcat would not even run in the rifle. After less than 1 magazine I gave up on it and went to Aquila. I also tried something else, but don't remember what it was.
At 25 yards it shot 3 inches to the right. It wasn't me because I had others shoot it with the same results.
The trigger was so heavy that after 50 rounds, my trigger finger hurt. Several hours later, as I write this, the finger still isn't back to normal.
Several people at the range came by and wanted to see both sides of it. The engraving is fantastic. There is also engraving on the butt plate, which I hadn't noticed before.
I mentioned to one of the guys that shot it that I might go ahead and buy an after-market trigger group and a scope for it.
Then one of the good old boys, who is extremely sharp said: I wouldn't advise it unless you are going to shoot it a lot. This is more something that you would hang on the wall.
Darn good point. I bought a dual time zone clock for my Ham Shack, and no longer need the clock on the wall (I wanted GMT at a glance). So I could hang this rifle where the clock was.
Of course I'll have to take out the firing pin so it is no longer funcional to keep the wife happy. (She has her desktop computer in the same room).
