Doesn't it kind of depend on what you consider a safety? There is the regular thumb safety, the grip safety, and I would consider the disconnecter a safety as well. What is 'severely' lacking is the firing pin block safety of the Series 80 and Series 90 pistols. (Well severely lacking if you consider possible litigation ).

..The first safety is located between the right ear and the left ear, on the normal human head. ;D....TMan; I couldn't resist ;D
.....The Series 80 is to prevent accidental discharged, if the pistol is "dropped"....as some has stated, but I have found that the passive firing safety, of the Series 80, prevents accident discharges when chambering the * first round from the magazine; as long as the trigger is not pressed. ( * Loading the first round : The only time when the trigger isn't pressed towards to the rear, when firing ).
.....The Swartz safeties are activated by the grip safety, which might serve the purpose of having an extra drop safety incorporated into the lockwork. I'm not very fond of the Swartz safeties, because the deactivate pin will rise when griping the frame, when installing the slide to the frame.

Hey, you didn't comment on the disconnecter. I consider anything that would prevent a gun from firing out of battery a safety. Agree?
It was an incident that I'll always remember: I was RO and I guy had his kid there shooting a Glock with an aftermarket barrel and slide for shooting 22LR.
My eyes caught a glimpse of a brass case that landed on the bench. It had blown out the side near the rim. The gun was firing out of battery. I told the father that the kid had to stop shooting because the gun wasn't safe and he needed to take it to a gunsmith.
