.....Before the subject of Sigs fade away again, I might offer this helpful word of advice with the holiday season approaching..The first Sig Sauer I ever owned was given to me on a Christmas Morning by my wife; It was wrapped under the tree and all my children witnessed the unwrapping of the gift. No;I did not shoot my eye out later on that day. ....Gentlemen,make your list out early this year.

I'd love that Dan Wesson Bobtail 1911, but looking at the Ruger 1911 from a more practical perspective.

Been on the lookout for a reasonable vintage P226 for years. Should've bought when Century had a bunch of police trade-ins imported a couple years back, but some home improvement project took my gun money.

I know how that can happen 5OT, just last month my water heater offered it's last hot shower. I had it in my silly head that I could replace the thing for about $300. Unfortunately, they go for about $550 here, unless you need a direct vented (exhaust fan) model. Then you're up to about $750. At that point, the tankless water heater seemed almost reasonable at $1200. By the time I was finished upsizing the water and gas pipes to 3/4" diameter, I was into that project for about $1400. While working on the installation in the basement, all I could think of was that for $1400, I could have had that 1911.

I was just talking to a friend of mine and asked him if while buying something, he ever thought of how much ammo that money could have bought. He said he thought he was the only one that measured expenses in guns and ammo.
