Perhaps you have heard that the Department of Homeland Security bought over 1 billion rounds of ammo. Well I got the true scoop today from a federal worker.
What happens is that the government puts out bids to the ammo makers and then selects the one that provides the lowest cost.
One of the branches of government then signs the contract. One year it was the Coast Guard, but this year it was the Department of Homeland Security. The ammo is then distributed to all the government branches.
So contrary to internet rumors they aren't buying it to use on us.
