1911 Smoothing The Trigger Action

.....Making trigger action much smoother, on the factory trigger, will trigger less gritty, on the metal to metal contacts, but it might not the trigger less lighter.

....Making Trigger smoother will reduced the friction between the trigger components.

.......One area, that I add smoothness to, is the Center Leg of the Sear Spring. I do this by smoothing off the inside corner of the center leg, without making it shorter. Sometimes, a small fine hand file will work for this, or a fine fingernail file stick. Afterwards, a light polishing in the area will smooth the contact. Apply a lubricant to the contact area of the sear.

........Polishing the Trigger Strut, or Bow, and Disconnector Paddle :

.......I apply a small amount of Flitz Paste Polish for this. You can hand buff the contact points, or use a dremel tool, with cotton pad, for this. After polishing the the Trigger Strut, apply lube to the outside of the strut, and place the trigger into the frame. Move the trigger back & forth, to check for any grit to it's movement. Upon reassembling the trigger & sear, apply lube to the rear of the trigger strut, where the trigger comes in contact with the disconnector paddle.

.....Sometimes, The Trigger Track, in the frame, might have grit. What I do is place amount of polish on the strut, place the trigger into the frame, and move the trigger back & forth to remove the roughness.

Brownell's "ACTION LUBE PLUS®"

Sometimes I have use it, and I found out just a little goes a long way......The Sear Nose to the Hammer Hooks, The Trigger Strut, and the pins.
