I was concerned about the plastic base plate until I noticed that it has a steel backup. The plastic plate on my P99 made a real mess when it cracked off while shooting at the range.

I have the original Wilson-Rogers magazines, with the plastic base pad and metal base plate, and I find them to be far better than the magazines with welded on metal plates. The base pads on my own Wilson magazines are made of a very durable plastic which resembles it's nylon follower in strength. I once had the base plate on a Colt Factory Metalform magazine pop off on me while standing in line at a fast food eat em up. I didn't know it until I sat down and got back up to find .45 acp cartridges falling all over the floor, in front of other customers. I've had other 1911 magazines, which I won't bother to mention, lose strength at the feed lips. Nothing is as frustrating as having worked on a pistol all week and to get to the range with defective malfunctioning magazines. I have had my fair share of embarassing moments with other magazines but all that is now in the past.
I totally trust the Wilson magazines and I think anyone who owns a 1911, in .45 acp, should have the best possible magazines for their pistol.

Hmmm, another plus for revolvers: NO MAGAZINE FAILURES. ;D

Hmmm, another plus for revolvers: NO MAGAZINE FAILURES. ;D Another plus is you don't have to police the area for brass when you're finished shooting. I've developed an opinion that automatics are only as good as their magazines. I've used the Wilson magazines in six different Colts, with three different barrel lengths, and both Wilson CQB pistols, with no magazine malfunctions.

I agree Wilsons are number 1-Second to none. I got mine from TA. Top Gun is my Number one supplier for my firearms. His quality parts, workmanship, and his shipping is the best I have found on the net. Any thing I need I check his sight first! Keep up the great work TA! G
