.......I personally favor the steel components in the older S&W revolvers; things changed when S&W began using MIM parts in their trigger components a few years ago.

.....The Third Generation of The Colt Single Action Army Single Action .45 long colt, has more strength than the original ( Which was design to chamber the less powerful black powder cartridges.) The Third Generation was designed to hold up to the modern day cartridges, within the limits of the frame & it's top strap.
