The first time I had eiswein was on a flight to Frankfurt on Lufthansa. I'd been chatting with the flight attendant who thought I was German. I thought it was because of the European style shirt I was wearing, but finally found out it was because I look German. She asked me if I'd like some "ice wine", and I asked her what it was. The way they make it is to let the grapes freeze on the vine and they use really sweet grapes. It was sweet. I also found out when I went to buy it that it is really expensive too. However, if you like sweet wine, it is worth a try. My wife is coming home for a couple of weeks so I have a bottle (325ml not 750ml) in the frig for her. Modified to add: She likes sweet things. That is why she married me. ;D

The Niagara Escarpment area has quite a few wineries. A few on the Canadian side have ice wine offerings. My wife and I used to go on the "Niagara Wine Trail" occasionally. They certainly are sweet!

Many a year we have. It is becoming a growing industry around Niagara and they do make very good wines as well. Its a really beautiful part of our province up here with a lot of fruit grown there as well.
