Good One, we have our share of the Trough Pigs as well in Canada. Happiness is catching them.

You do get used to it after a while up here, 60-70 years practice doing it helps you learn how to do it. They are predicting minus 40c to-morrow night with the wind factor. That's the part that hurts the most. Gotta check my Cognac supply, Christmas was "Very Good" put a good dent in the winter supply.

Today was the first "Snow day" I've had in many years. Went to a client meeting at the Falls, but worked from home the rest of the day. All of the local schools are closed for tomorrow too. If they lift the driving ban in Buffalo, I'll be back in tomorrow though.

To-day its melting like crazy up here and going to be well above 0 to-morrow. We are still digging out from the other day so its a good help. My old bones like it also. A heat wave would be great I think.

Is it starting to warm up yet in the southern part of the US? Its still pretty darn cold here in Canada at the moment and the snow is still piled pretty high but starting to slowly melt. I got out and fired late yesterday for the 1st time this year on a outdoor range. Didn't last long due to the cold needless to say. I think parts of me are still frozen. What about the rest of you lads how are you all doing?

Keeping pretty busy these days. Lots of work. Certainly does make the time pass quickly.
We had a couple of warm days, in the 40's, but it was another light snow again today. Spring will get here sooner or later.

Well we finally had 4 days of some warmth and then now back to the cold again. At least the huge snow piles have dropped a wee bit on my front lawn. Still about 8.5 feet deep . We are really tired od seeing it this year up here as its seems its been longer then normal which it actually has. Supposed to be cool until mid April they tell us up here. I hope you guys have better weather reports then that in your area,s. My Cognac bill is starting to get rather high if this weather keeps up. Pic me snickering here aye.

I finally can see my front lawn or whats left of it. Yellow brown of course but still nice to see finally. To-day was warm so we were shooting the old Black Powder rifles this morning. That's Fun at any time of course and had a really good turnout at our club for it as well. Have one Black finger at the moment as I forgot to keep it away from the touch hole. Oh well sometimes its good to have a reminder like this on a safety issue. This was on one of my flintlocks which I haven't fired in about 2 months. My fault and I will be the 1st one to admit my error on it as well. One of the members brought his handmade cannon out for the 1st time and fired it. Wow what a really nice job he did building it from scratch. He machined every single part for it and did a really nice job. 80 grains of BlACK POWDER to fire it. It was quite accurate at 75 YARDS. Overall a really nice day.

Here we are in a new year with the same dam view on my lawn again. Snow piled around 10 feet high. With my city of London being in a Valley its trying to fill it up I really do believe. Our temps here have been much lower then normal and we are setting NEW records for cold levels almost every day here as well. Its minus 28 outside right now and has been for the last two weeks. We are all fed up with these temps needless to say and cabin fever is becoming way too common. At least I have real good tires on my old Caddie and do get thru this mess. I shoot at least twice a week to preserve my sanity and drink a lot of coffee. Currently free at Rotten Ronnie's here everyday. At night the Cognac helps me out about two nights a week as well.

Several record cold and records set for lowest daytime high here recently as well. -17F this morning. I refuse to complain too much. I prefer cold to hot. I took my son skiing and it was -2F...no waiting at the lifts. I can always put on more clothes in the winter, but taking too much off in the summer could get me in trouble. I've sure used a lot of wood and wood pellets this month though!

The snow has been piling up here. After digging out a small cubby for the garbage cans to sit in at the curb, I tried digging up some of the hard pack on the driveway. I had to buy a new shovel this weekend, as we broke the last one. Well, the hardpack was coming up in chunks. Big flat sections that look a bit like stone because of the grime packed into it. As I was shoveling them off to the side of the driveway, I started stacking them up. My son came out to help, and our makeshift wall turned into a castle.

I find the older I get the more I am hating this weather. More reasons for a medical Cognac I guess. My son has taken over doing our driveway thankfully even tho he is the one who broke the snowblower drive axle into two pieces. It can be welded for around $20.00 instead of a replacement axle at $152.00 plus labour. I won't blame the old 39 year old machine as I earned it many years ago when new. I worked part time at a hardware store back then and the owner said he would give $10.00 for everyone I sold and another $10.00 for assembling them all. I sold 54 of them in the 1st 4 days of the sale. They were $599.99 back then. Its been a great 8HP machine with the old Tecumseh Snowking engine on it so I can not blame it at all. Pic Big smile here. Nice pic of your son MBL I have a grandson who will be 15 on St Paddies day. He lives in Oregon so Grand dad only see's him about once a year it seems. They grow up so fast it seems.

The old Snowblower coming back home to-morrow. I will be $192.50 poorer after it arrives back tho. I was going to spend that money on ammo. "RATS" Can't print what I really was thinking. You all can probably guess which word anyways. Hopefully we won't need to use it much as I intend to seel it and downsize this year. Been in this old home for almost 43 years. Back to a smaller place with less bills. A small condo or apt will be just fine. Be just the two of us and the two kitties, the wifes rescues. They are cute tho and fun to have around.
