OK, so I have "snow on my roof", which is a euphemism for having white hair. However, MLB has the real snow on his roof. I wonder if this winter will be enough to convince him to leave Western NY and join me in Texas or DoubleAction in Georgia? Actually, I noticed it dropped to 24F at my house the other night. Yikes!!!
This afternoon I was going next door to the mall and while waiting for the elevator I looked out the window and saw people swimming in the hotel pool.

The snow is quite dramatic here this week. Not for me specifically, as I'm north of the city. Only 4-6 inches or so this far. Just south though, they have record (as in record snowfall in the US for daily accumulation) type snow.
I worked from home today, but will likely go back in tomorrow. Buffalo has a formidable snow removal fleet, and there's help coming in from all over the area. We'll do just fine. It snows, it's a little bit of a problem for a day or two, and then it goes away. I'd take this over hurricanes, tornados, or earthquakes anytime. Next week, my house will still be here!
All is well. Thanks for the concern. Glad I finally got the pool put away 2 weeks ago though.

We have lots of it here I can tell you for sure. Not as bad as Buffalo has tho. I was still able to get out to shoot at my club last night even with it blowing around quite badly. We have about a good 6 inchs only so far and the weather is to warm up quite a bit on the week-end. Rain is called for and a temp of 9Cel also. I am going North of London To-morrow into the snow belt area for a funeral of a cousin of the wife's. Mitchel Ont is in the Snowbelt area so I know to carry a lot of safety gear with me. I have No-Snow left on my own roof at all for over 50 years now. Its a great landing field for flies on occasion. I always wear a Hat. Keeps my hair out of my eyes. Pic Big smile here. Why Not? I like good bald jokes. Used to work with a guy years ago that really flipped out over them. Of course we helped him a long a lot. The more jokes about his head we told the tighter he got wound. It was funny needless to say. Stay warm guys and healthy.

I got a call from an AP reporter yesterday through my membership in the local Engineer's association. It was just a quick phone interview and a follow up call around 3:30, but I googled “bajorek buffalo snow” tonight to see if it got picked up anywhere. It’s the same couple of lines everywhere, but it’s in dozens of places from ABC, Huffington Post, Portland OR, MSN, to Seattle WA. That’s really cool! abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/round-buffalo-braces-wintry-wallop-27044077It was an interesting experience. He needed to distill my rambling discussion on how varied snow loading on a roof could be, to "based on 50psf ground snow load". The finer points of drifting, slope, thermal factors, etc were too technical I guess. It was cool that he used my comment about a 4" concrete slab as the physical example of what 50psf is.

You're famous! That's pretty cool (take/leave the pun as you please). We had just a couple inches here and a nice coating of freezing rain this morning that might be causing more problems than the snow earlier this week. It should be all gone by this afternoon though.

We also had the freezing rain this morning but it was not too bad. A few car accidents on the local highways but that seemed to be all. Very foggy outside to-night.
