Hey, we all use computers or we wouldn't be on this forum. I recently bought a Raspberry Pi, which is a mini-processor produced in the UK and the version that I have, the B+, sells for ~$45 USD. It is amazing what it can do for the price. It along with a $20 web-cam that I bought at the mall next door is able to basically do what the 9 security cameras that I have at home do i.e. detect motion and record it. No the cheap camera doesn't have the Point, Tilt, Zoom (PTZ) that the cameras at home have, but it doesn't have the $2k price tag either. Also, the cameras at home aren't using PTZ in detection mode so why is it needed.
Having used the Arduino, which is really just a micro-controller, I'm really amazed at the features available in the Raspberry Pi. I saw a clip on TV where it showed the former Sony TV plant in the UK running 24 hours a day trying to keep up the demand for the Raspberry Pi. Nice to see some manufacturing outside of China.

My city here is full of shut down factory's as well. Huge buildings with no-body in them. We have been extremely hard with this recession as well. Even where I spent my 30 years is a ghost town now. No more Locomotives coming out of our plant again. The biggest and best Locomotives in the world were built here along with at one time the biggest Terex off road dump trucks also. City Bus's, and school buses as well. Catapilar bought them out and closed them. They are total trash scumbags for the way they treat people.
