How to Correctly Load a Single Action "Six Shooter" Revolver ...I learned about this by reading an article written by Harry Carey, Jr, ,The Western Actor. ...This is the correct procedure, and it will prevent you from shooting yourself in the foot. This was the reason why, Bill Ruger developed the Transfer Bar, on his New Model Single Action Revolvers.....I still the prefer Single Actions without the Transfer Bar, for a positive click while loading. The Rugers has to be lined up....but The Rugers has a Free Spinning Cylinder Cool Factor. I will post several.

Learn something new everyday. I always knew to load one ship one and the load the rest, but i never knew to look in to see if the hammer was on a round or not. When you are loading at a bench and talking to someone it is easy to screw up.

...I also read that Old West Gunslingers would keep paper money in the empty chamber, to cover the cost of Undertaker & Burial expenses
