Alternatives for Packing.org

I like to request some advice from you fine people.

I find that Packing.org is falling into disarray. There still is some good information on CCW and weapons on the site, but it seems like the site owner has abandoned it. Maps and information on CCW are out of date. People are constantly bickering about the post rating system. Little to no moderation is going on.

It's frustrating to me because it was such a useful, dynamic site.

Are there other sites available that duplicate the function of Packing.org? I've done a search for CCW, concealed carry forums, and other keywords on Google, but all that I turn up is a slow moving Yahoo site. If you are aware of alternative CCW forums or discussion groups, please let me know.

When I take motorcycle rides state to state, it was convenient to be able to go to one site and find out which states offer Colorado reciprocity. Also, when new laws were passed to permit reciprocity, it popped up on the site. So, it was useful.

I haven't been to packing.org in quite a while. I agree that it was quite useful. I wonder if the NRA site would have the same info. Seems to me that they should, but not being a member, I wouldn't know.

Not a member?! You should be shot. How ironic, an act of gun violence trying to preserve and strengthen our rights to bear arms.

Actually, I just joined today. It is part of my quest to get an M1 Garand and possibly a M1903, and a kimber 82 or a mossberg 144 or H&R m12. I'm a sucker for old rimfires, although the kimber isn't old.

National Rifle Association - why join that when all I'm interested in is handguns? That's what I thought for years until I joined the club I currently shoot at. It has 100% NRA membership. You join the NRA or you don't join the club.

I've since found out that NRA isn't a good name. It should be NGA.
