Ok guys whats your favorite semi-auto pistol. I know this thread was on the other forum, but since the other forum is gone, maybe we can do it again. Here's mine. Ok I can see it's a tough choice to pick one, so I'll pick my top three choices ;D
1. Browning Hi Power 9mm 2. Sig P226 9mm 3. Para Ordnance P14 .45ACP

My all round favorite is the 1911 .45 acp; With this pistol I am not limited to barrel lengths, ammunition variations, aftermarket parts, grips, magazines, holsters, or service.

I have to agree with DA. A great, time tested design that has unlimited potential for upgrades to personal preference, many manufacturers, not to mention a powerful defensive round backed by a reliable means of delivering it.

I will pick one 1911 above the rest -- just because it is best I have had.
1911 A1 Springfield Custom Loaded. Best gun I have ever owned and decidedly the last gun I will ever love.
My 2nd place is the HK Usp .40 cal.
3rd place -- Sig 229 (shot it last week and now I want it so bad!!)

First would be a good 1911. Colt Springfield, Kimber, but no Philipino guns......
Then the Ruger MKII.
After that, there really isn't much of a need, but next would be an HK, a USP or a P7 type.
The fourth kind of surprises me, a Star, especially the Model B.
Finally, Berettas. I still have a few from my earlier fascination with them, but they just don't see the range time any more.
What drives my choices is the shootability, my accuracy with the weapons, and the ability to turn them into personalized pieces.

My favorites would probably go in this order....
1. A good 1911 in .45 ACP. Kimber, Wilson, Springfield, and Colt of course.
2. HK USP in .40 or .357sig or a P7 in 9mm. HKs are pretty much all top notch. I am kind of partial to the P7s for concealed carry.
3. Beretta 92s would be my next choice. I have an M9 Military issue 92 that I keep and dont shoot much and I have my eye on the new 92 vertec inox.
4. Desert Eagle in .50AE......just because they are FUN! ;D

A 1911.
A 1911 from Colt, Kimber or Springfield.
I have lots of experience shooting Colts and Kimbers, and have only recently discovered that Springfield is putting out some nice pistols as well.
If I had to pick a double action semi auto pistol, it would be either a Sig P220 or a Smith and Wesson 1006.

To me, favorite is different than the classic "if you could only have one". To this quesiton, I would say Ruger P95 for all around utility, protection, reliability etc.
As for favorite, whith me, it can shift.
I would say a Glock 22 or Springfield XD 40. Aesthetically, I like Glock better, but as for not worrying a partially supported chamber, and ergonomics, my final answer would be a Springfield XD40 or XD357.

Did I see aesthetic and Glock in the same sentence? ;D

OK, I'd have to say my favorite pistol is whichever one I have ammo for -- no, seriously -- I guess at this point it would be my SigArms P239 because I like the trigger, it's totally reliable, and it's accurate. Heck, I pretty much can have a great time with anything that cycles reliably!
