Brought home a Para P13*45 today.
As I mentioned fit, finish, balance are all good.
Its had less than 100 rds though it via report and inspection.
Upon hand cycling though the cor-bon 230s wont feed at all, not even manually. They hang up on the feed ramp.
The Winchester wb 230grs will hand cycle but even that feels quite sluggish to me.
I think the feed ramp nees a bit of work and I need advice on what to do!
Also I need to get about 1000 rounds of fmj and shoot the crap out of this before I even attempt hollow points I think (I know "out of the box" reliabilty is the norm but I dont think thats ever been the case with para).
Advise appreciated.

Don't judge it until you try shooting the JHP. Some pistols feed and shoot JHP fine, yet will hardly cycle JHP by hand.

Yeap your right.
I was "riding the slide".
It was such a small amount I didnt ever realize I was doing it but when I use the slide release or make a "consious" effort to snap the slide and "let go fast" it goes into battery every time!
I will say that this is absolutely the "tightest" pistol Ive ever played with. (and thats not saying much).
If someone had been standing there beside me saying "your riding the slide" I would have denied it.
I just took it apart and Im very pleased with it so far.
Where is best place to get the P13 full capacity magazines. Ive seen them advertised for $59.00 and that may be worth picking up one now even with the ban sunsetting I suspect it will be summer 2005 or even fall before they become widely available at a reasonable price.

Data, I bought a new Para Ordnance P14 steel frame .45ACP several years ago, and it wouldn't feed Hollowpoints by hand either until I made sure I let the slide fly forward on its own. My gun was extremly tight and it took about 100 rounds of fmj to break it in. Data, check with www.cdnninvestments.com for magazines, they usually have good deals on them if they have any in right now.

Data, send it down here. I'll put some rounds through it for you at no charge. ;D To be nice I'll even polish up the feed ramp.
