I just purchased a new S&W Model 625. I got the 4” barrel and picked up a Ross leather holster and some moon clips and a moon clip holder. I originally had planned to get a 686 but my interest in competitive shooting steered me toward the 625.
Right now it has one of the variable sights. It shoots POA single action and low and to the left double action. That was improving in the first 100 rounds and I am sure will continue to improve as it breaks in and I become more accustomed to it. Nevertheless, I plan to get a trigger job once it is broken in a bit more. Unfortunately, the FDLE was having phone problems yesterday so I didn’t get to take it home.

Congrads man!
You going to post pics when you get it? I need to add a wheelgun to my stash ... I just haven't decided which one I want.

tpt; Once you become accustomed to the double action stroke , I think your shot placements will improve. Your right about the trigger job.

Sounds like a cool toy. I am Jealous . If it is ok with you, maybe you can introduce me to the gun next saturday. I went shooting this morning. Curt came along so I got to shoot his S&W 28-2. It's a pretty nice gun to shoot. Have to say I did pretty well with it today. It put the shots exactly where the sights show. Now if I could only learn to put the sights on the middle of the target....

DA- You were (of course) correct about getting used to the double action. By the second 100 rounds most of the shots were staying within 3 inches even with fairly rapid fire. Fortunately the FDLE was up and running yesterday so I have it at home.
metalman- You are on for this next weekend.

I was a little slow but there are pictures on the photo gallery now. I intend to get pics of some of my other guns soon. (I also have about a dozen antique trumpets if someone wants to see more.)

I've often thought the Bugle was much more difficult that the Trumpet, is that true ?

A trumpet is just a bugle with valves. The same techniques of control are involved with both. Any decent trumpet player should be able to play a bugle. There are a lot of parallel's (but not transference)between shooting and playing trumpet.

This is a nice looking revolver. But, let me ask a dumb question. How does this revolver handle 0.45 acp cartridges? Moonclips?

Moonclips is right, Ricochet. Makes reloading the cylinder faster than using speedloaders with revolver cartridges, to many. Some of the newer S&W Performance Center Revolvers has the option of using moonclips with their .357 magnums. I think S&W also has a revolver chambered for the 38 Super.
