What are your thoughts on the new Sig 1911 ? Between the Colt 1911 or Sig 1911 what would you buy?Thanks.

Livenhel: You are truly evil for asking that. You know DA loves both the SiG sport pistols and Colt 1911s and you are asking him to choose. Bad member, bad! ;D

livnhel; Even though I am fond of the P-Series Sigs, I feel completely impartial to the Sig 1911 GSR. The one that I examined seemed to have a different feel as you would expect from a Colt or Springfield. The finished and steel of the GSR is not as I would expect from a company that is noted for such refinements as found in the Sig Sport pistols. Aside from the squared appearance, and light rail, the Sig was fitted very well, with a good lockup, and clean trigger. The price of the Sig 1911 is far below that of the Sig Sport Pistols, which accounts for it's comparative workmanship. If one is a collector of the many offerings of the 1911, this one would defintely be on the list.
