Read somewere that a 9mm can be fired out of a .38 super with some barrel work.Can this be done without messing up my .38 super? Thanks for any info.

More or less same bullet diameter, but different headspace. I doubt that you'd be able to get it to fire, and if it did, you'd have trouble extracting it. And I'd rather not think about copper fouling and the resulting pressure in the chamber. I believe that you can do a barrel swap ($200 http://www.barsto.com) and that everything else will work unless you have a really heavy spring on the slide. Since it's not a firearm in itself, you can mail or web order and have it shipped.

Livnhel; From what I've read, the breech face of the 38 supers are cut for the .403"-.405" rim of the Super case. The 9mm has a rim of .390" in diameter, which will work, but requires some extractor tension adjustment. The Magazines of the 38 super will be a little too long for the 9mm case, which might cause the 9mm to nose dive on feeding. Because the case if different in size, another barrel, chanbered for the 9mm is required. Different magazine, and different barrel, breech face should work.

Did it back in late 60s out of a Llama by accident they would fire but wouldn t feed worth a dam . At first belived was pistol then found we had wrong cal. got 38 super and ran fine Was my SD gun till I got my Commander in 72. I got the pistol in Ga. sold to a guy getting out of Army in Co. in 72 In 73 or 74 FBI was at my door seems gun was used in bank robbery in Wa. :oItGot around. Problem only paper work I ever filled out was the yellow one and that was in 68 at dealer. Yet they came a calling in Co. all those years later. Never heard anymore about it.After that one vist.
