Sometime in the near future, I wil be getting a .357 revolver. What are your opinions. I'm currently leaning towards a barrel around 5-6" and I'm partial to a stainless finish, but this could all change. SO...what are your favorites?

Colt's Python is the Crowned Prince of the .357 magnum double action revolvers, but the S&W L Frame 686 and 586 is a prime choice to consider. One .357 magnum is not enough when there are very serious choices available. My own collection would not be complete without Colt's Python, Smith & Wesson's L Frames of the 586 & 686, and Smith & Wesson's N-Frame Model 27. The S&W Revolvers can be found from $300 to $450., on the average, in the pre-owned market place.

5ontarget, I've had quite a few .357 Mags. in the last several years. I like my custom S&W 686 with 6" barrel the most. 5ontarget welcome to the forum

5ontarget; Just for information, The newer 686 revolvers have the firing pins mounted in the frames, as opposed to the originals, which were mounted on the hammer. Also; The newer 686s feature the Metal Injection Molded Hammers and Triggers, verses the Steel Hammers & Triggers of the original designs. Some originals can be purchased on the pre-owned markets at far less than the newer versions. Either way; I've fired both versions, and they are both excellent handguns.
