A trip to the shooting range last night revealed two nice “new” used revolvers: a Python and a S&W 29-2. The Python was in good shape with just a little wear on the blueing near the front sight. The 29-2 is nickel with a pinned barrel and recessed chambers and like new. They wanted $595 for either. A trip to GunsAmerica indicates that those are fair prices. But I don’t have a $$ a handgun right now.

Hey.......Rent them and Shoot them........ Layaway, Loansharks, Sell the wife's car (I actually knew a man who did that while his wife was at work. He had the balls to pick her up at the end of the day and show her his new rifle!) etc..... Actually, I don't think $600 apiece is all that great, but I could be wrong. My choice would be, well I don't know, whichever one I shot best, with an edge to the Python if it was .357 magnum. Does either have a 4 inch barrel?

I'm not positive if they were 4" but believe they were. My range does not rent out guns that are for sale. I assume that these might be on consignment. As far as selling the wife's car, handguns are of little value if you are dead. ;D Anyway I just bought a 625, am having it tricked out and just put down deposit on one of the 3 day Universal Shooting Academy sessions for me and my 23 year old son. ;D ;D
