Hi all -- I am looking for new carry pistol and thought i had my choices down to two -- but a new 3rd has come in. IT is the Beretta Vertec - which is a slimline version of hte Beretta 96. It is still a .40 cal.
Does anyone have any experience with this gun? Specs on it?
Thanks for any input -- my other model I am pretty sure on is the Kimber Pro Carry II with the aliminum alloy frame in all black (no stainless for me)

I had a stainless 96 Vertec. It was comfortable to shoot and had a good feel to it. I have heard many good things about them... but I had some problems with mine.
1. The accessory rail was crooked and one side was thicker than the other. This resulted in a tac light that pointed several feet to the right at about 20 yds.
2. A hole in the frame for the right side grip panel was slightly misplaced. This resulted in a crooked panel.
Both defects really surprised me, especially on a Beretta. I returned it right away and walked away with a black 96FS which I am very happy with. The silver lining here is that I look over my weapons more thoroughly before I purchase them.
